Artist of the Light: Roisin Fitzpatrick

Ireland

With assistance from the DFA, I have created the first 4K Ultra HD video of the spectacular Winter Solstice at Newgrange with soundtrack kindly provided by Moya Brennan. To give voice and vision to the ingenuity of our ancestors from over 5,000 years ago is a dream come true and has been my greatest joy as an artist.

The Winter Solstice at Newgrange provides a powerful symbol of hope as the dawn sunlight pierces through the darkness to illuminate a pathway for the coming year…this is especially significant as we enter 2021.
