Join Visit Mourne as it brings you ‘Light and Hope’ this Christmas with two free to enjoy festive concerts streamed online into the comfort of your home.
Curated by international violinist Joanne Quigley McParland, and hosted by radio presenter John Toal, the ‘Light’ and ‘Hope’ concerts will feature homegrown and international talent filmed on location in Down Cathedral, Warrenpoint Town Hall and Killeavy Castle.
Streamed over two nights, Sunday 20th and Tuesday 22nd December at 7:00pm each evening, Newry, Mourne and Down District Council invites you to come together virtually to celebrate Christmas at home in the heart of #VisitMourne.
Light Concert – WATCH HERE
The Christmas’ Light’ concert will be a family friendly performance featuring music from The Nutcracker alongside classic carols Away in a Manger, Have Yourself A Merry Little Christmas, Chestnuts Roasting on a Fire and White Christmas. With kind permission of composer Howard Blake, there will be a special Walking In The Air performance – a wonderful highlight not to be missed.
Hope Concert – WATCH HERE
Christmas’ Hope’ will be carols from Down Cathedral from Sestina Choir, Fews Ensemble, Irish soprano Máire Flavin and award-winning Irish pianist David Quigley.
