Terrible Good Concert #4 will be Pierce Turner’s annual Christmas show at The Wexford Arts Centre on Thursday 22nd December.
For this performance, Pierce is bringing the majestic band that performed with him to capacity crowds and multiple standing ovations. His current album ‘Terrible Good’, which received a four star review in the Irish Times, and was Album of the Week on RTE, is developing ‘classic’ status amongst Turner fans, and hearing them reproduced live is nothing less than thrilling.
Terrible Good featured an all star line-up of New York musicians, and was produced by fellow transplanted Irish man, Gerry Leonard. The album strongly features Leonard’s guitar work, not that dissimilar to his work with David Bowie, whom he played with for his final eight years. This sublime guitar work will be brilliantly replicated at the Riverbank on December 22nd by the Dublin/Wexford guitarist, Cillian Byrne, a thrill for all you guitar aficionados. Cillian and his Brother Lorcan Byrne (Drums), also known as Basciville, are the core of Pierce’s band, both of them also providing perfect backing vocals. Mary Barnecutt from Hull is featured on cello and virtuoso Dublin bassist, Bill Bergin finishes out this perfect line-up.
