‘Bridget’s Hope’ highlights the achievement of Irish women in 1921 and explores the stream of consciousness of a member of Cumann na mBan at the time of the Truce in July 1921. The combination of words and music will lead us past the hard politics of the era to reflect more on a social, cultural and creative Ireland and, in doing so, combine the mythical with the political, the past with the present and the local with the international. Our poet Emily Cullen worked with musician Ciaran Cannon to combine words and rhythm in their expression and exploration of this dialogue.
